This quaint cottage will entrance you with its charm, from the warm paneled walls to the wide deck and spacious patio. Located at Bass Lake, an 1800-acre lake south of Yosemite National Park and popular for boating, fishing, and swimming, this cottage combines a mountain atmosphere with the conveniences of town (Oakhurst) within a 10-15 minute drive. Private setting combines both forest and garden feel, with wild sweet peas running rampant from May through August, climbing on roses and native shrubbery. Covered gazebo on slate patio is ideal for dining al fresco, with a tete-a-tete set for morning coffee with peek-a-boo view of the lake. Plenty of space on the extra-large deck for sunbathing or relaxing under the canvas canopy, letting you select sun or shade. Indoors you'll find a comfortable king-size bed in the pine-paneled bedroom, with wall-to-wall closet and windows providing cross-ventilation, with ceiling fan overhead. Living room is flanked by large stone fireplace on one wall and large picture windows on the opposite wall, with swivel rockers and sofa for relaxation while enjoying cable TV and VHS-DVD combo player. Full-size kitchen has dine-in table for quick breakfasts, as well as a separate dining table in the dining alcove, and compartmented bath includes shower-tub combination. Private setting is just a few minutes' walk to the lake itself and about two miles to nearby lake resorts. You'll have the many stores, restaurants and conveniences of Oakhurst within a 15-minute drive. You can spend one or more days of your time at Bass Lake exploring Yosemite National Park; just seeing the sights could easily require a week or more at your Bass Lake cottage. Somehow, though, guests like to extend their mornings at the cottage and often return early in the afternoon; this particular cottage is the ideal place to relax and retreat from the world -- and you'll feel free from all care.
